Kim Kardashian has admitted that she was shocked when her husband Kanye West announced that he was going to run for President of the United Stated in 2020.
The superstar rapper announced that he intended to run for President in 2020 during his acceptance speech for the MTV Music Video Award’s lifetime achievement honour on August 30.
During his 10 minute speech West discussed visiting the supermarket with his daughter and admitted that he does not understand awards shows.
“And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed in this moment, I’ve decided in 2020 to run for president,” West said, before walking off stage.
His wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, admitted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she had no idea that he was going to put himself forward to become the next President. She said: "That was news to me. That wasn’t a discussion in our household.
"I don't know if that was planned and I just didn't know about it or if he came up with idea right then and there.
"That's a big thing to not talk to your wife about.
Kardashian, who is pregnant with the couple's second child, also told DeGeneres that she believes West fully intends to follow through with is announcement. "I believe he is serious. I know that if he puts his mind to something he will do his best. It's been fascinating hearing all the conversations that have gone on since that announcement."
She added: "I think it would be so much fun to be in the White House."
