Daniel O'Donnell, who is currently gracing our screens on Strictly Come Dancing, will be getting more airtime on the country music show Opry an Iúir on TG4.

The crooner is back hosting the show, which sees a country music star appearing each week to play their greatest hits in front of a live audience.

The singer will also perform some of his best known hits as Gaelige, including Tar ag Damhsa Liom (I just want to dance with you) and Bhfuil aon Sólás í nDán dom Níos Mó (My shoes keep walking back to you).

O'Donnell said: "I really enjoyed presenting Opry an Iúir again this year. The guests were all fantastic. I got to sing a few songs in Irish. A first for me!  It's so good to have a show like this to showcase some of our great country stars."

This season will see Dominic Kirwan, Charlie Landsborough, Mike Denver, Louise Morrissey, Jim Devine and Johnny Brady take to the stage to have a chat with Daniel and play a special duet performance.

Opry an Iúir will air on Wednesdays at 10.30pm on TG4 starting October 7 for six weeks with a special show taking place on December 23 for Christmas where Daniel will celebrate Brendan Shine’s 50 years in music.
