Irish actors Simon Delaney and Maria Doyle Kennedy are set to star in the sequel to the 2013 supernatural box office hit, The Conjuring.

Directed again by James Wan, The Conjuring 2 is billed as a supernatural thriller in which another real case from the files of renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren is documented.

Reprising their roles, Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star as Lorraine and Ed, who travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children whose house is plagued by malicious spirits.

The Conjuring marked the largest opening ever for an original horror movie, earning more than $319 million worldwide. The film is the second highest-grossing original horror movie of all time, second to The Exorcist.

Frances O’Connor plays the single mom, with Franka Potente and Simon McBurney also starring, along with the aforementioned Maria Doyle Kennedy and Simon Delaney.

The Conjuring 2 is scheduled for worldwide release in June 2016.
