Rachel Weisz and Sam Claflin have been cast in a new remake of Daphne Du Maurier's classic novel My Cousin Rachel.

The book was published in 1951 and was previously adapted into a film starring Richard Burton and Olivia de Havilland in 1952.

Roger Mitchell will write and direct the latest big-screen adaptation, which follows Phillip (Claflin), a young orphaned man who believes his mysterious cousin Rachel is responsible for the death of his beloved guardian Ambrose.

Weisz will next be seen in the musical drama Youth, while Claflin will star in the final Hunger Games movie Mockingjay - Part 2, which hits cinemas on November 19.
