Fans of The Big Bang Theory have been waiting for Penny and Leonard to walk down the aisle since the sitcom first aired in September 2007 and now the couple have finally tied the knot.

Penny and Leonard have been having an on-again-off-again romance for eight seasons on the popular comedy series and in last night's premiere of series nine on CBS the lovebirds finally said 'I do'.
Many fans thought their relationship was doomed after Dr Hofstader revealed he had kissed another woman but showrunner Steve Molaro admitted the lovebirds were always going to get hitched.
"We’re nine years in and we want to keep things moving forward, as well as exciting and scary and fun," he said.
Since the on-screen couple had no time to get ready for their nuptials before jetting off to Las Vegas to get wed, Penny is wearing a simple, short pink dress with black shoulder straps, and Leonard has on a simple suit.
Also in the season nine opener Sheldon is hurt that Amy has called time on their relationship, and while his attempts to win her back prove to be unsuccessful, he finally makes it clear just how much she means to him.
Fingers crossed that they can work things out but for now it looks like Amy has had enough.
