Rumours have been flying that Becks has been approached to play James Bond, but will he take his martinis shaken or stirred?

Or not at all, so it seems.

Speaking to Susanna Reid on ITV's Good Morning Britain 40-year-old Beckham revealed that he hasn't been officially approached to play 007 and if he was, he doesn't think it would be the right role for him.

Responding to the rumours Beckham said: "I know, I heard that the other day.

"And I was at the US Open and Sean Connery was two seats in front of me. I'm such a big fan of his; I was gonna kind of knock him on the shoulder and just say, you know 'apparently I'm up for the next role' - but no.

"I've definitely not been contacted, I'm definitely not up for doing something like that, but it's nice to be linked I suppose."

Beckham though does appear to have caught the acting bug.

He recently starred in a short film called Outlaws and he also had a cameo appearance in The Man from U.N.C.L.E and played a part in another Guy Richie movie Knights of the Round Table.
