Dubliner Aidan Turner is back losing his shirt as Poldark begins shooting its second season in Cornwall.
The rebooted period drama was one of the big TV hits of the last 12 months, with Turner turning into this decade's Colin Firth as his torso became an integral part of Sunday night telly-watching.
This time around, Turner and co-star Eleanor Tomlinson will reunite for an extended ten-part second season, with the cast boosted by the addition of John Nettles, Hugh Skinner and Gabriella Wilde.
Filming resumed this week in Cornwall, with the BBC hoping to build on the success of the first run which peaked with nearly 10 million UK viewers and prompted an unlikely debate about topless scything - Turner's in particular.
Debbie Horsfield will adapt all 10 episodes from the acclaimed novels by Winston Graham, set in 1790, with "riot and revolution in the air. Ross Poldark must once again fight for his freedom . . . Can Demelza save Ross from himself?"
Turner said that the new series "presents a whole new set of challenges for both him and me and I can’t wait for it to kick off again".
Poldark will return next year to BBC1.
