Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that she and Trainwreck star Amy Schumer are writing a new sibling comedy and plan to play the sisters in the movie.

"We're almost done writing," Lawrence told the New York Times during an interview about her upcoming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2. "It just flowed out of us. We've got about 100 pages right now."

Lawrence, who has become friends with Schumer in recent months, said that co-writing has been the "most fun" experience of her life.

"Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavours. It's been the most fun experience of my life," she said. "We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up."

Lawrence said that they would also write with Schumer's sister Kim, who collaborated on Trainwreck, "I'm flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We'll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck."

During the New York Times interview, Lawrence texted Schumer to tell her that she had told the paper about their collaboration.

"I wrote, 'I just spilled the beans to the New York Times. Is that OK?'" she said. "And Amy wrote back, 'That you're gay? Totally! It's exciting!'"

The pair recently holidayed together with Schumer sharing some snaps of them jet-skiing, swimming and human pyramid-ing on a boat to her Instagram account.
