RTÉ 2fm radio presenter Louise McSharry married her fiance Gordon Spierin today in Co. Cork.
The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony with close friends and family, a year on from her shock diagnosis with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Yesterday the new bride tweeted, "This day last year I was diagnosed with cancer. Today I'm starting my wedding celebrations. What a difference a year makes."
Louise is currently in remission having been given the all-clear in March this year.

Oh and modern medicine. Modern medicine had a lot of influence here as well.

Speaking to TEN earlier this year Louise said of being given the all-clear, "I don't know if it's entirely sunk in yet that I don't have cancer anymore, but I've been feeling pretty good. My energy levels are slowly but surely getting back to normal, and hopefully I'll be back to full strength soon enough."
Upon being diagnosed in August 2014, Louise took a sabbatical from her radio show but has now returned to her regular slot on Sunday nights from 8pm - 10pm.
