Garth Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood will be inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville in September.

Yearwood has sold more than 12 million albums and earned Grammy, CMA and ACM Awards. She has written three New York Times best-selling cookbooks, hosted six seasons of her Emmy Award-winning Food Network show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, and launched a line of cookware, Trisha’s Precious Metals. The singer has also devised her own home furnishings line, the Trisha Yearwood Home Collection.

Brooks is the top-selling solo artist in U.S. history with in excess of 136 million albums sold. He too has won a plethora of Grammy, CMA and ACM Awards, aside from being inducted into the International Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The country legend performed five concerts in two days in 2008 to assist fire relief efforts in California, and performed nine sold-out concerts in six days in 2010 to raise money after widespread flooding affected the Nashville area.

“Trisha and Garth are two great artists who represent what makes Nashville special,” Nashville Mayor Karl Dean declares. “They are musicians. They are entrepreneurs. And they are generous community advocates. The way they care about Nashville is as inspiring as their music. “

The country music couple will become the 64th and 65th music stars to be bestowed with the honour.
