Country superstar Nathan Carter says that he'd love to play his own Croke Park headliner following the cancellation of his support slot at Garth Brooks' Croker shows last year.

Speaking to TEN at the launch of RTÉ One's new Autumn schedule, the singer, who has enjoyed massive success in Ireland, said: "I'd love to do a show in Croke Park so you never know. I was offered the support to Garth Brooks there last year. It didn't happen but it would be a dream to play Croke Park

"I was just so honoured to be asked and I was very disappointed I didn't get the support and I was very disappointed that he couldn't come to play the shows. Sure you never know he could come again."

Carter is taking part in Stetsons and Stilettos, RTÉ's new series examining the popularity of country music in Ireland.
