Three more women have accused comedian and actor Bill Cosby of sexual assault, including a woman who appeared on The Cosby Show.

Actresses Colleen Hughes, Linda Ridgeway Whitedeer and Eden Tirl added their names to a list of more than 40 women who claim to have been assaulted by the 78-year-old.

During a press conference hosted by celebrity attorney Gloria Allred, Tirl claimed Cosby locked her in a dressing room during a taping of The Cosby Show in 1989 and sexually assaulted her. Hughes and Ridgeway Whitedeer claim to have been assaulted in the early 1970s.

Last month New York magazine interviewed and profiled 35 of the women. They were pictured on the front cover sitting side by side on stools alongside an empty stool.

Mr Cosby has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has not been charged with any crime.
