Liam Neeson is set to play American war hero General Douglas MacArthur in the new film Operation Chromite.
The Taken star will work with director John H Lee on the South Korean action film, which focuses on eight Korean war heroes, Seoul production company Taewon Entertainment announced today.
Operation Chromite was the codename for the Battle of Inchon which began on September 15, 1950, shortly after the Korean War broke out. It was a surprise attack in which UN forces landed in the South Korean city to drive out the North Korean People's Army.
Neeson's Korean co-stars have yet to be chosen for the film, which is expected to go into production later this year.
Operation Chromite is set to be released in time for next year's 66th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War on June 25 1950.
