Anna Faris has said that rumours that her husband Chris Pratt was cheating on her with Jennifer Lawrence were "devastating".

The actress admitted that although there was no truth to the tabloid allegations that her husband of six years was cheating with his Passengers co-star, the experience was still "weirdly stinging".

Speaking to Fox News, Faris explained: "It has been a little devastating. For us it was like, 'What the heck?'

"This has been blindsiding to us. We have an incredible relationship. It has been weirdly stinging."

"[That] stung a little bit harder than I thought it would. I have always kind of believed that part of the rumours of celebrity couples were sort of true - because they had never been a part of my life. I thought 'Maybe there is a kernel of truth to that'," she said.

However, The House Bunny star added that their relationship is still strong, saying: "I am very lucky that I am with a man [and] that we both value family."

Faris and Jurassic World star Pratt met in 2007 on the set of the comedy Take Me Home Tonight and wed in 2009. They are parents to three-year-old son Jack.

Pratt and Lawrence are starring alongside one another in the big-budget sci-fi movie Passengers.
