Police in the US have confirmed that the body found in New York's Hudson River earlier this week is that of Ian Jones, the boyfriend of Annie Lennox's daughter Tali, who had been missing after a canoeing accident.
A statement from the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said "the autopsy on the body recovered in the Hudson River on 8/10/15 has been completed by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner, who has officially confirmed that it is in fact the body of Mr Ian Jones".
The statement continued: "The autopsy has revealed no injuries or trauma to Mr Jones' body, and the findings are consistent with drowning."
Thirty-two-year-old model Jones and 22-year-old Lennox were canoeing on Saturday when their kayak capsized. Lennox, an artist and model, was rescued shortly after the accident.
Lennox paid tribute to her late boyfriend on Instagram, writing: "My heart is shattered. My best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime & creativity, the LOVE & LIGHT of my life is no longer with me. All the love that has been sent to me is giving me the strength to get through this. I know that he is so so happy that I was safely rescued. Let us honor & celebrate this beautiful soul & keep following the light."
