Ed Sheeran has added to his varied collection of tattoos by getting a large lion's head inked across his chest, and it looks very like one of Conor McGregor's inkings. Is it just a coincidence?
Taking to his Instagram account today the 24-year-old Sing hitmaker unveiled his new artwork with his 4.5 millions followers, along with the caption: "Halfway and ouch."
The lion tattoo, which is the England football team's logo, has reportedly been made to celebrate his sell-out Wembley gigs, but fans seem to have come up with their own reasons as to what his body art is all about - and not everyone likes it.
So @edsheeran's new tattoo (courtesy of @kp_est78) is LARGE. Never knew he loved Cecil so much. pic.twitter.com/c8yoekTCEg

@edsheeran settle an in office debate. Tattoo - Cecil the Lion or Mufasa from the Lion King? My money, quite honestly, is on the latter

Ed...I'd be lion if I said I liked your tattoo. But don't worry, I still love you! ;) @edsheeran

Sheeran's other inkings include the Heinz tomato ketchup logo and a teddy bear and the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air typography.
Kevin Paul, who designed the tattoo, has previously created inkings for the likes of One Direction’s Harry Styles and N-Dubz rapper Dappy.

Seeing double? Ed Sheeran's tattoo (above) looks almost identical to Conor McGregor's inking (below).
