Zac Efron is in talks to join Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in Paramount's Baywatch comedy, the big-screen take on the popular 1990s television series about California lifeguards.
The 27-year-old star will reportedly be suiting up in the iconic red shorts to play a young lifeguard who teams up with a veteran (Johnson) to save their beach from an environmental disaster, according to The Wrap.
The project, which has been in development since 2012, will be directed by Seth Gordon, with the most recent draft of the movie coming from Friday the 13th scriptwriters Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.
