Ben Affleck has reportedly signed on to star in multiple standalone Batman films.
It was previously reported that the Oscar-winner would direct, co-write and star-in a standalone film based on Bruce Wayne and his Batman alter-ego, after he makes his debut as the caped crusader in next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, opposite Henry Cavill.
According to insider website Den of Geek, Affleck won't just be taking one solo turn as Batman however, with a possible trilogy in the pipeline.
The decision comes after an early screening of an "almost finished cut" of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, that earned Affleck a standing ovation from Warner Bros studio bosses and members of the film crew.

A release date for the first standalone film has not yet been announced but it is thought that production will begin after Affleck completes filming on his long awaited adaptation of Dennis Lehane's novel Live By Night.
Affleck's Batman will also appear in the highly anticipated ensemble adventure Suicide Squad, which hits cinemas in August 2016. He is also linked to a two-part Justice League feature, so should all of these projects be released that's a potential whopping seven films that could see the Argo star in his Batman costume (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, 2 x Justice League, 3 x Batman).
