Emma Bunton has played down reports that the Spice Girls are to reunite next year.

The Sun had claimed that Bunton and bandmates Mel B, Mel C and Geri Halliwell were planning to tour without former colleague Victoria Beckham.

But speaking on her Heart London radio show on Friday morning, Bunton, aka Baby Spice, said: "If anything happens and it's concrete, and we decide on something, I will let you know, but nothing's happening at the moment."

Addressing the reunion reports on Twitter, she wrote: "Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?"

Mel C, aka Sporty Spice, tweeted: "Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!!"

On Thursday, Beckham, formerly known as Posh Spice, put a picture of a Spice Girls photo album on Twitter with the caption: "Love my Spice Girls."

Mel B posted a picture of herself as Scary Spice on Instagram and captioned it: "The world deserves to hear your voice! #BeLoud #Tbt [Throwback Thursday]."
