As rumours and denials abound that the Spice Girls are going to reunite ahead of the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough hit Wannabe we take a look at some of the bands who have enjoyed newfound success after reforming.
We'd love to see the quintet get back together, so, with fingers crossed, here are our top TEN favourite band reunions of all time.
1. Blur

Who can forget the infamous Oasis vs Blur Britpop battle in the mid 90s, as immortalised by Fr Damo in Father Ted? After seven successful studio albums, Damon Albarn and co split up in 2003, but delighted fans in 2009 when they decided to kiss and make up. They played a headline slot in Glastonbury showcasing their incredible back catalogue. Their performance to mark the end of the London 2012 Olympics also coincided with a surprise album release, Magic Whip, which was met with critical acclaim and led to a sell-out Hyde Park gig.
2. Take That

Beloved boy/man band Take That formed in 1990 and were arguably the biggest boyband of the decade. Robbie Williams was the first to rock the boat when he departed in 1995, to huge distress from their fervent fanbase, and the band eventually parted ways in 1996. However, Williams went on to return for one album and a tour after a 10 year absence. He didn't last long though - and with Jason Orange's departure - they're continuing strongly with just three members.
3. The Stone Roses
Pioneering Madchester rockers The Stone Roses announced their plans to reform after a 15-year hiatus in 2011 with a world tour, selling out three gigs at Heaton Park in record time. Luckily, the band's mix of guitar pop with acid house rhythms survived the break. There have been widespread rumours that they're set to release a new album in 2015, but no official announcements have been made yet.
4. Boyzone

Since their infamous denim-clad Late Late Show appearance in 1993, Boyzone went on to huge success, and scored many hit singles in Ireland and the UK. The brainchild of manager Louis Walsh, the band luckily got some help from a stylist in the subsequent years. They split in 2000, before reforming in 2007 for a Children in Need performance and an Ireland an UK tour before the untimely death of Stephen Gately in 2009. They celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2013 with a new album BZ20 but are now on a break until 2018 when they will tour to mark 25 years since they formed.
5. Sugababes (MKS)
Freak Like Me is a classic pop hit, and fans of the Sugababes were delighted when they decided to reform in 2012. However, they had lost the rights to the name and are now performing as MKS, or - Mutya Keisha Siobhan. They released a new single, Flatline, in 2012, but are yet to announce any new album plans.
6. Pulp

Alternative rock band Pulp were formed in Sheffield in 1978, but it wasn't till the mid-90s when they gained prominence with hits like Common People storming up the charts. Charismatic frontman Jarvis Cocker pulled the band back together in 2010, leading to headline slots at Wireless festival and a surprise 2011 set at Glastonbury. They're reportedly working on new material at the moment.
7. Steps

Ah Steps. The dance-pop group are the ultimate in cheesy-pop goodness - and in 2011 after five years together they decided to split up. Luckily for their ardent fans, they reformed a decade later for a Sky Living documentary series following their sell-out tour. They're still officially together, but are on a hiatus.
8. McBusted

This is not technically a reunion as the band hadn't previously existed, but McBusted can't be ignored in this top ten list. The super-group consists of the four McFly band members and their former heroes Busted, minus Charlie Simpson. They formed in 2013 and soon sold out an 11-stop tour, which was extended to 34 nights. They haven't looked back since, and supported One Direction in 2014 and 2015.
9. 5ive
The original 5ive were put together by the same team who managed the Spice Girls in 1997 and sold a whopping 20 million records before parting ways in 2001. However, they kept on moving and reformed as part of ITV's Big Reunion, keeping the name 5ive despite Jason 'J' Brown declining to re-join. The four-piece toured with McBusted in 2013 and lost another band member with Abz Love's departure.
10. Blue

Blue formed in 2000 and released No 1 three studio albums before splitting up in 2005. They reformed in 2011 to compete in the Eurovision song contest and in 2013 they joined ITV's Big Reunion, playing a gig at Hammersmith Apollo. They released their fifth studio album Colours earlier this year.
