Mariah Carey shared the spotlight with her young children as she unveiled her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Grammy-winning singer hugged her four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe after revealing her own piece of Hollywood history.
Carey even allowed her children to address the huge crowd of fans on Hollywood Boulevard - she held them up to the microphone to say: "I love you Mummy."
Dressed in a plunging, sequinned black gown she told the audience: "You're melting my heart. You're making me cry, and that's why I'm keeping on my sunglasses. But I cannot thank you enough. This is a huge honour."
She added: "It's a childhood dream come true. It's been a long time coming, so they say, and I'm very, very, very honoured and very humbled and just so thankful to be here."
The international superstar was joined by Lee Daniels, who directed her in the film Precious and producer LA Reid for the ceremony.
During his speech Daniels revealed Carey will be guest-starring on his hit show, Empire, which is about a hip-hop dynasty. Empire can be seen on E4.
He told the crowd: "Watch her on Empire, you guys. She's coming on Empire."
Carey was selected for a star on the Walk of Fame in 2007 but only recently set the date for her ceremony.
