Mel B plots Spice Girl 20th anniversary reunion

Mel B says that she'd like to see a Spice Girls' reunion to mark the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough hit Wannabe

The song that launched girl power, the wearing of Union Jack knickers and global girl band domination was released in July 1996 at the height of Britpop and Mel B aka Scary Spice is very keen to remind the world all about it. 

Speaking on The Today Show in the US yesterday (August 4), she said that she was hatching a plan to get the rest of the band - Ginger, Posh, Baby and Sporty - enthused about an anniversary comeback.

"When you say it’s our 20th anniversary coming up, it does make you think, ‘Oh, my gosh, it really has been that long," she said.

"Hopefully, we’ll gather the troops around, and we'll get to do something to celebrate it next year. It’s in my plan, I don’t know about anybody else’s."

Speaking of her time with the group, Mel B added: "I've got so many great memories. I got to tour the world with four of my best friends - even today we still all support each other. We like each other, and that's the most important part".
