Dramatic new footage of yesterday's extraordinary Minion rampage in North Dublin has been released and it shows the giant yellow inflatable showing scant regard for red, green and even yellow lights as it rolled down a busy road in Santry.
The adventures of the escaped Minion, who broke free from a local funfair, captured the imagination of the world yesterday and made global headlines.
Nobody was hurt during the rampage although the bright yellow peon of ultimate evil did damage the wing mirror of a car and caused traffic problems during its brief bid for freedom.
Speaking to TheJournal.ie about the global interest in the incident, George Bird, who is the owner of the wayward Minion, said: “Jesus, it’s unbelievable. We would hope we will let people know [once] everything is sorted out and it’s back together and back up again.”
The Minion, which was bought a number of weeks ago, will be moving on to Tralee next.
Sharp-eyed and aptly-named local Dónal Sharpson captured this dramatic footage of yesterday's events . . .
