Surprise Surprise and Blind Date star Cilla Black has died aged 72 at her Spanish villa in Marbella.

A Spanish police spokesperson told The Telegraph: "I can confirm the death of British national Priscilla White, aged 72.

"We are still awaiting autopsy results but everything at this stage is pointing towards her death being the result of natural causes."

The much-loved presenter has been vocal about suffering from arthritis and hearing problems in recent years.

She was married for 30 years to her manager Bobby Willis until he died in 1999 of lung cancer, aged just 57. She leaves behind three sons, Robert, Ben and Jack, as well as two grandchildren.

This Morning host Phillip Schofield took to Twitter to pay tribute to Black, posting: "I've just heard the incredibly sad news that the legendary Cilla has died. So sad. A truly wonderful lady and an entertainment icon."

Former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding also took to to the social networking site, writing: "Omg such a shock....Truly a national treasure. Cilla u will be truly missed and forever remembered chuck. [😔] [❤️] RIP XXX"
