Navan man Pierce Brosnan has wrapped filming for his new revenge thriller I.T. and expressed his love for Ireland in a series of tweets and Instagram posts.
Taking to the social media sites, the 62-year-old former Bond actor shared a snap of him hiding behind two clapperboards, followed by the caption: "That's a wrap on my movie 'I.T.' And good bye Ireland you beautiful Colleen... To one and all who stood shoulder to shoulder in making this movie.... My love and thanks."
Shortly afterwards he posted another tweet expressing his love for Ireland, accompanied by a rock from the movie Camelot.
"Good bye my sweet home of Ireland that I can call you now after all these years abroad a wandering...this is the Rock from the movie Camelot directed by Mr John Boorman, it sits in a valley called Luggala a land of magic mystery song and dance... In the movie young Arthur pulls the sword from its back ..." (sic)
I.T. tells the story of Mike Ryan (Brosnan), a successful businessman whose falling out with a young I.T. consultant (James Frecheville) sees his life, family and business threatened.
Anna Friel will play Pierce Brosnan's wife in I.T., while Stefanie Scott will play Brosnan and Friel's on-screen daughter.
The movie is directed by Irish filmmaker John Moore, and Brosnan's company, Irish Dreamtime, is among the producers on the flick.
In recent weeks, Brosnan was spotted in Sandycove, Dún Laoghaire and other Dublin locations, and even posed for a selfie with RTÉ's Ryan Tubridy along the way.
