Imelda May has shared stages with Bono, Meatoaf and Marc Almond among others but she says the only time she was ever starstruck was when she literally bumped into legendary actor Clint Eastwood at a gig in LA.
Speaking to TEN about the second series of The Imelda May Show, May said: "I was over at a gig for Jamie Callum in LA, I had me and my band on tour with him. He's a really nice guy and him and Clint Eastwood were working together.
"I was at the gig standing on the balcony on my own looking at the gig, up in the dark in the gods, and my hand touched off somebody and I turned around and said sorry . . .and I realised it was Clint Eastwood! I got introduced to him later and I was trying to think of nice things to say and I did the usual `I really love you, you're amazing!' I tripped over me tongue. Hahahaha."
Guests on the second series of May's show include Lulu, Marc Almond, SOAK, Fight Like Apes, Delorentos, The Boomtown Rats and Kodaline.
The new series of The Imelda May Show starts on July 24, RTÉ One at 9.35pm.
