Panto Queen Twink has scotched rumours that she is about to quit showbiz in favour of a new career as full-time baker.
Chatting to Brendan O'Connor on RTÉ Radio 1, the star slammed newspaper reports that she is turning her back on pantomine in favour of her new baking venture.
She is now selling homemade cakes to customers at her local famers market in Terenure, South County Dublin and told Brendan that while she is "terribly excited" about her new baking enterprise she said she isn't making her millions from it.
Twink, who's real name is Adele King, chatted to presenter Brendan O’Connor this morning and when asked if she was leaving the entertainment industry behind, she said: "I didn't say 'I'm never doing a pantomime again, I'm never doing shows again' of course I didn't say that. That's ridiculous. I've always been an entertainer.
"Nostradamus couldn't have forseen this for me, I just thought it would be a lark in the park for a couple of nice weeks in the spring, and I'll go back to doing what I do. It kind of has taken on a bit of a life of its own and right now I really don't know where it's going but it's terribly exciting because it's not something new to me, it's new to everybody else."
The Irish star, who is separated from her husband David Agnew also revealed she faces the prospect of selling her home in Rathfarnham, Dublin due to financial difficulties.
She became emotional as she told Brendan "It’s untenable to think that I can hold on to that on my own".
"I have looked at smaller places to try and downsize and get rid of the financial crucifix it is. But anyone who owns an old house or listed building will tell you it’s like the film The Money Pit".
