Gone Girl star joins Irish director's new movie

Tyler Perry, the actor, writer and director who was among the stars of Gone Girl, has joined Chloë Grace Moretz in Brain on Fire, the new film from Glassland and Pilgrim Hill director Gerard Barrett.

Brain on Fire has been adapted by the Kerry filmmaker from journalist Susannah Cahalan's memoir of psychiatric illness Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness

Charlize Theron's production company, Denver & Delilah Films, is co-producing.

US trade publication Variety reports that Perry, who played lawyer Tanner Bolt in Gone Girl, will play Cahalan's (Moretz) boss at the New York Post in Brain on Fire.  

Brain on Fire is currently filming in Vancouver for release in 2016.

The cast also includes Richard Armitage, Carrie-Anne Moss, Thomas Mann and Jenny Slate. 

Barrett's Glassland is released on DVD and on demand on July 31.
