Kodaline star Vinny May has told TEN that he and his childhood sweetheart, Carina Elliot, plan to get married in the summer of 2017.
The busy pair have decided 2017 will give them time to plan around their hectic schedules. The location and venue have been set, but both are keeping the details under wraps.
'We want to have a big wedding, with all of our family and friends. Planning a wedding outside Ireland would eliminate a lot of people, so it's important that all of our friends and family can be there. It makes it that little bit easier.' Vinny said.
Kodaline have been busy this summer, with Vinny describing the festival season like a 'summer camp' for bands. "This summer has been great, we have done a lot of festivals. The Kilmainham gig was very special. We did a show in the Marquee in Cork the day before.
"Selling out the Marquee with 5,000 people was pretty awesome. We got a great reaction from there, but you can't beat playing a show in your home town in Dublin. We were so overwhelmed we could sell out Kilmainham with 15,000 people. It was nerve racking, but it was fun."
The band is set to play the Big Top at the Galway Arts Festival over the weekend. They will also perform at a top secret location as part of a Vodafone gig. The broadcast will be streamed on Kodaline's Twitter page this coming Monday July 20, via periscope.
And the band guarantee that they will all be decked out in their casual black or dark grey gear.
"We all wear black all of the time, even in the sunshine. Jay wore white once and he got a lot of stick for it, so we like to stick to wearing black or dark grey. It's the band's colour."
Despite success, Vinny said that Kodaline remain grounded and down to earth. "Nobody is allowed get a big head or get an ego. We'll pull somebody up straight away. We have the same crew since we started, so we're like a big family on the road."
Kodaline are currently planning a UK and Irish tour for December 2015.
