Game of Thrones star Isaac Hempstead-Wright has confirmed that his character Bran Stark will appear in the sixth season of the show having been absent from season five.
Spoiler alert!
The last we saw of Bran was in the season four finale when he came face-to-face with the Three-Eyed Raven and one of The Children of The Forest – the original non-human inhabitants of Westeros.
It was announced before season five went to air that his storyline wouldn't feature in the season as his journey had caught up with his adventures in George RR Martin's books on which the show is based.
While some of Bran's journey was a bit boring in comparison to the other plot-lines – there were no dragons after all – the parting words of the Three-Eyed Raven, "You will never walk again, but you will fly" are sure to take things up a notch.
Speaking with the Irish Examiner, the 16-year-old star has confirmed that we will see more of Bran in season six, "I can’t say a lot but I am back this season, and it’s going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions."
Wright's on-screen younger brother Rickon, played by Art Parkinson, was also absent from the most recent series but it is not yet known if his storyline will be picked up on for the upcoming 10-episode run.
Kit Harington as Jon Snow
Wright also weighed in on the future of Kit Harington's character Jon Snow, who was left for dead in the season five finale, saying, "I don't know [if he will come back]. He said he's not. I wish he would because I love Kit and because the character's so cool. Who knows? We start filming series six at the end of this month so we'll see."
Everyone involved in the Game of Thrones universe has said Jon Snow is dead – including the writers and Harington himself - but fans are reluctant to believe that he won't make a miracle recovery. We've a long wait ahead of us to find out for sure, but one thing's certain – Winter is coming.
Harington's hair length (pictured above at Wimbledon) has given fans hope that he will return to the show as he is contractually obliged to grow his hair and beard ahead of filming. Could we be clutching at straws? Maybe he just likes the look?
