Christina Aguilera: "So where is the Cannes Festival been held this year?"

Celebrities can often make us laugh when they say ridiculous things. In light of Ariana Grande's faux pas this week, we decided to compile the top ten celebrity slip ups to give you a giggle.

1. Ariana Grande

This beauty's squeaky clean crown came tumbling down this week, while in a doughnut store in Californa. The Break Free singer was caught on a security camera licking doughnuts on display with her co-dancers and saying "I hate Americans, I hate America". Ariana Grande responded to the backlash on social media through twitter apologising for her actions.

"I am extremely proud to be American." She also goes on to say she hopes to make it up to all of her fans.

"I hope to make it up to all of those fans soon. That being said let me apologise if I have offended anyone with my poor choice of words."

2. Kanye West

Kanye is known for being outspoken, however interrupting Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMA Awards was a whole new low. Kanye embarrassingly jumped on stage claiming: "‘Beyoncé has the best video of all time" while poor Tay awkwardly stood there. Below is a reminder of what happened that night.

3. Paris Hilton

We all know Paris Hilton is a savvy business woman, however it seems when it comes to geography she has a little more work to do. She tweeted: "No, no, I didn't go to England; I went to London." @Parishilton

Yikes.

4. Justin Bieber

Beiber will always be considered the baby of pop, however despite physically growing up, he seems to have a lacking in general knowledge. When asked a question about what "Bieber means in German" he responded perplexed asking the presenter "What's German? I don't know what German means."

5. Nadine Coyle

We couldn't compile a list without an Irish celeb slip up. Who can remember that moment on the reality show Irish Popstars when Nadine Coyle couldn’t find her passport and she realised her dream of becoming a member of the Irish pop band Six was over. Judge Linda Martin asked her: "How did you make that mistake, god bless you Nadine?"

"I don't know, I was sitting there and I think I gave a date of birth and said the 15th of June '87 or something. I went down and I was nervous and I was sitting there."

Linda Martin replies: "If you were trying to make out you were 18. Would you tell me at this stage as your friend?"

Nadine replied: "I would tell you it's only right I think."

She later revealed she was only 16.

However the lucky girl went on to bigger and better things with Popstars the rivals, joining girlband Girls Aloud

6. Jessica Simpson

The blonde beauty made a hilarious slip up during her old reality show when she wondered aloud whether she was eating tuna or chicken.

"Is this chicken what I have or is this fish? I know it’s tuna but this is chicken by the sea. Is that stupid? Why is it called chicken by the sea or in the sea?"

Nick Lachey: "It’s Chicken of the Sea, is the brand. You know a lot of people eat tuna and a lot of people eat chicken, so it’s like chicken of the sea."

Jessica: "Ok I get it now."

7. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is know for being polite and media savvy, however she said some rather funny things in her time and this is possibly one of the worst.

"I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this was such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life. She’s 18. And I was like that’s how I feel."

8. Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan made a big mistake sharing her thoughts twitter about Hurricane Sandy.

"Why is everyone in such a panic about hurricane (I’m calling it Sally)....? Stop projecting negativity! Think positive and pray for peace."

9. Tamara Ecclestone

Despite Tamara Ecclestone's elite education she hadn't yet learned the difference between bread and toast.

She asks her husband Jay Rutland:

"Is it called bread or toast when it's not toasted?"

She continues perplexed, "Toast is not bread."

"Like bread is a whole loaf that hasn't been sliced up," she muses.

"This is clearly toast, it's different. Bread is like what you have in a bread basket at a restaurant."

10. Christina Aguilera

Sometimes the answer is in the question! Again Aguilera will probably never live this down.

"So where is the Cannes Festival been held this year?"
