The first trailer of Brooklyn starring Saoirse Ronan, has been released ahead of its official opening in November.
Oscar buzz has already begun over Ronan's performance following the movie's screening at this year’s Sundance film festival.
Directed by John Crowley and written by Nick Hornby, the adaptation of Colm Toibin's bestseller Brooklyn won rave reviews and is also being seen as major awards contender. Variety described it as "A robust romantic drama, rich in history and full of emotion".
The 1950's romance is set in Ireland and New York City and see's Ronan's character Eilis Lacey immigrate to Brooklyn. After falling for an Italian American man (Emory Cohen), she’s forced to consider a move back to Ireland after learning of some devastating news and a complicated love triangle quickly develops.
The film also co-stars Domhnall Gleeson, Julie Waters, Jim Broadbent and Eva Birthistle and is due for release here on November 6.
