Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams is set to break the hearts of Game of Thrones fans everywhere with her theories on the future of one particular character that met a grizzly end in the season five finale.
Spoiler alert!
The actress, who plays Arya Stark on the hit HBO series, addressed some of the theories about the fate of her on-screen brother Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington.
In the final episode of the show's fifth season, Snow was stabbed a number of times by members of the Night's Watch and left for dead. While it seems as though his death was certain, and the actor himself has come straight out and said that he won't be back for the sixth series, fans haven't given up hope yet and with Harington spotted at Wimbledon with his signature shaggy locks, there is a glimmer of hope that the beloved character may survive.
E! News caught up with Williams to ask her about Snow's future on the show and her answers weren't exactly what we all wanted to hear.
"I think people are trying to be very positive about this, like, 'It's fine. He's coming back. He's totally coming back, right? He's going to come back?'" she said. "I'm like, 'I don't think so. I'm very sorry!' I don't know, maybe he wanted to keep the hair in the end."
She continued, "We saw him get stabbed like five times in the chest. I think he's gone. I mean, I could be wrong, but I really don't think so. And people are like, 'He's going to come back as White Walker!' I'm like, 'Really, we'd bring back Jon Snow as a White Walker?!' OK, you can believe what you'd like."
On the fan theory that Melisandre, played by Carice Van Houten, has the power to resurrect him she added, "I feel like she's far too selfish for all of that."
Talk about trampling all over our dreams... but maybe this is all just to throw us off the scent so we'll be surprised to see him alive and well in season six? Only what, 39 weeks until we find out?
