A red faced Fox news reporter was caught off guard calling Irish golfer Rory McIlroy a 'leprechaun'.
Fox news has been the talk of the town today after a news reporter slipped up by revealing her true feelings about the world number one golfer during a discussion about his ruptured ankle ligament.
While she was off screen, unfortunately her microphone was still open. The news reporter can be overheard saying:
'He's a leprechaun, I can't stand him.'
The reporter Ms. Faulkner took to Twitter to say she didn't hear the incident when live on air. She also claimed her comment was in relation to him splitting with his former fiancé, Caroline Wozniacki.
Ugh, did NOT hear that said when we were live. MY reaction was re: his reputation of the not-so-nice fiance firing. https://t.co/uB20MbF0ey

Rory took to twitter yesterday to share news of his ruptured ligament with fans, which could see him missing out on this year's British Open and possibly slipping down the world rankings
