Wimbledon 2015
From 11:30am BBC Two
Sue Barker introduces live action from the fifth day of the 2015 Wimbledon Championships. The third round gets under way today, and at this stage of last year's tournament eventual Men's Singles Champion Novak Djokovic (pictured) enjoyed a comfortable win over France's Gilles Simon. Live Wimbledon coverage also takes place from 1:45pm to 6:00pm on BBC One.
Rock 'n' Roll America: Sweet Little Sixteen
9:00pm BBC Four
New three-part documentary series airing on Fridays on BBC Four as part of a season of programmes across BBC Four, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music. Episode one focuses on the origins of rock 'n' roll in 1950s America. It was a rhythm-driven mix of blues, boogie woogie and vocal harmony, championed by young music pioneers such as Fats Domino and Little Richard and nurtured by small independent record labels. Being a pre-Civil Rights Act time, it drew young white and black kids together - the rock 'n' roll calm before the folk-singing protest storm, if you will. And, of course, this being smack bang in the middle of the Fifties, one boy from Tupelo by the name of Presley was about to be all shook up and to shake up mighty, too.
Thank GAA It's Friday
8:30pm RTÉ2
Ahead of the Munster Football Final, the programme features Gillingham's Player of the Year who is the son of a Kerry football legend, John Egan Jr. John's father, who passed away in 2012, was part of the great Kingdom sides of the late Seventies and early Eighties, winning six All-Irelands and five All-Star awards. Despite his Kerry background, John was born and raised in the heart of the Rebel County - but will there be divided loyalties come Munster Football Final day? Comedic actor David Rawle (Martin Moone in the mega-hit Moone Boy, as pictured) talks about his Gaelic Football heritage in Leitrim's Carrigallen GAA club. He has also voiced Ben, the central narrating character, in Song of the Sea, the marvellous new Irish animated film.
