Magic Mike XXL star Adam Rodriguez has told TEN that his grandmother "didn't expect to see quite as much of her grandson" in the original movie, but she can't wait to see the sequel with her friends.
TEN's Laura Delaney met Rodriguez and co-star Joe Manganiello in London.
Speaking about how their families reacted to them prancing around half-naked on screen, Manganiello said: "My parents saw me running around naked on True Blood for years doing way worse than I do in this film."
He continued: "My mother has a shirt that reads 'Big Dick Richie's mom' and she wears it to Starbucks to get coffee with her friends. My mother has a wicked sense of humour, but she's also proud and knows these movies are huge and funny and have a pedigree. They're cool with it."
Rodriguez added: "I think my grandmother was the only person that was just a bit surprised by the first one. I don't think she expected to see quite as much of her grandson as she saw. But now she can't wait for the sequel with her friends.
"They're ready to 'make it rain'. They've got their money," he laughed.
The actors said that the Magic Mike story appeals to guys as well as girls because it's in the same 'bromance' league as The Hangover - only with male strippers (naturally), and they also talked about the dangers of extras on the set, and their families' pride.
