Emilia Clarke has raised hopes that a certain Game of Thrones character may be brought back to life.

The actress, who plays the Mother of Dragons aka Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO show, reckons that Jon Snow might return.

In the final episode of season five of the popular series, viewers watched in distress as fan favourite Snow (Kit Harington) was stabbed multiple times by members of the Night's Watch.

The episode closed with Snow laying on the ground in a pool of blood.

However, Clarke believes that the noble Snow may return, telling MTV: "Seriously I can with all honesty say that I have no idea what's happening. If I had to bet, I'd say there's, like, a 50/50 chance [of Jon Snow returning].

"There's some very helpful people there who could bring him on back to life..."

The sixth season of Game of Thrones will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2016.
