Ohio pre-schoolers saw the opening reel of horror movie Insidious 3 at a cinema in the US state rather than the intended Disney-Pixar film Inside Out.
“I got our money back,” wrote Jazmyn Moore on the local newspaper’s Facebook page, “but the damage is already done. My children are terrified and keep asking questions.”
Moore declared that her party saw images of children being tied up and murdered at the cinema in Middletown, before she and other adults took their their children out of the cinema. The duty manager apologised and upgraded tickets for the patrons.
Insidious 3 was released in the US on June 5, while Inside Out followed two weeks later. The family film has taken over double the domestic gross of the horror movie, amounting to the biggest-ever opening for an original concept movie.
