Pink Floyd musician David Gilmour's ten-date European tour is sold out. It begin until September 12 in Pula in Croatia, and finishes with five dates at the Albert Hall later in September and in October.
Prior to the tour, however, Gilmour will be performing in Wroclaw's historic Market Square in POland on Saturday next, June 25.
Sky Arts recently aired a new programme in the Masters of the Guitar series, presented by Phil Manzanera who has co-produced Gilmour's forthcoming solo album, Rattle That Lock.
"The thing about David [is], it's not a competition about [being] the fastest gun slinger in the west," Manzanera noted on the June 9 programme. "It's the notes that you don't choose to play that actually define who you are as a guitarist."
Polly Samson and David Gilmour were guests at the Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas in County Carlow on June 6. In a session entitled Louder Than Words, the husband and wife couple discussed lyric writing and the nature of creativity. Polly Samson talked about writing the lyrics for both On An Island and The Division Bell albums.
