Chris Evans return as a mainstay of television schedules is almost complete with news that Channel 4 has commissioned a brand new six part series of TFI Friday.
Evans, who was also recently unveiled as the new host of Top Gear, will also helm the revival of the nineties hit television show.
The famously anarchic and controversial show, which featured slots such as Freak or Unique and a perennial sweary Sean Ryder in its pre-watershed slot, recently returned as a once-off and drew in a very respectable audience of 4.3 million viewers.
An array of celebrity guests such as Liam Gallagher, Blur and Lewis Hamilton joined into the 90s nostalgia trip, prompting speculation that Channel 4 would bring back TFI Friday to our screens almost twenty years after its first broadcast.
Chris Evans took to Twitter to express his delight at the show's return to our screens.
Just written last chapter of new book. Had no idea it was going to start with a secret marathon and end with TFi Friday & Top Gear. Onwards!
