P Diddy out on bail following arrest for assault

US rapper P Diddy was arrested by police in Los Angeles over allegations that he assaulted his son's football coach with a deadly weapon.

The incident is reported to have involved a kettlebell at the athletic facilities of UCLA and took place after the coach allegedly yelled at his son Justin.

Justin is a defensive back on the college football team.

Following the altercation the singer, who's real name is Sean Combs, was transferred to Los Angeles County jail where bail was set at $160,000.

The musician was freed late Monday on night after posting bail, several hours after his arrest.

In a statement the college said "we will let the legal process run its course" and added it would be be making no further comment.
