The second programme in the series charts Tony Ryan’s journey from ground staff worker in Aer Lingus to aviation high-flier. Following GPA’s spectacular crash, he managed a second coming with the fledgling Ryanair. The film takes account of his ambitious and protégé, Michael O’Leary, as Ryanair became Europe’s largest budget airline.

Kitchen Hero: Dónal’s Irish Feast, 8.30pm RTÉ One

Dónal heads to Tipperary this week and meets the producers of O’Donnell Crisps. In Thurles he visits Irish Piedmontese Beef, producers of a lean, low fat beef. In Clonmel Donal learns how to make Barmbrack at Hickey’s Bakery. Dishes served at Dónal’s feast in Inch House include Rosemary Rib-Eye Steak with Horseradish Sauce and Fennel Salad, and Barmbrack Parfait with Whiskey Prunes.

New series.  Alan Titchmarsh travels to Walsall in the UK to surprise a young widow. Nina Perrin Seedhouse has three children to look after and her garden is a bare, blank canvas. Her husband Gareth died last year after battling cancer. Gareth was something of a local hero who worked tirelessly for Walsall Council. His greatest passion was for the parks and green spaces of his hometown and he had just begun to make a garden in their new home when he died. Alan and his team must give the family the dream garden that Gareth would have wanted..
