Jurassic World continues to stomp all over box office records and is on course to become the fastest movie in history to rake in more than $1 billion.

The blockbuster already had the biggest opening day takings ever of $83 million in the US, overtaking Marvel's The Avengers.

Here in Ireland it has already made €1.2 million after just one week in cinemas and is unlikely to be knocked off it's top perch until Pixar's Inside Out is released here in July.

Based on its current performance Jurassic World has a chance of being the highest-grossing release of the year, potentially giving Star Wars: The Force Awakens a run for its money when it is released in December.

Little surprise then that talk of a sequel has already begun. The movie's star Chris Pratt suggested last week that a follow-up could be on the cards and confirmed that he is contracted to appear in any further films.
