Following comments on the status of the Simpsons' marriage made by executive producer Al Jean, Homer and Marge Simpson have released a video denying they are set to divorce.
In the video, the Springfield-based couple put on a united front, holding hands and sitting under a large banner with the words 'Together Forever' printed on it.
Speaking on behalf of the cartoon couple Homer says: "Now listen here, Marjorie and I are as solid as a rock."
The rumours that TV's golden couple are set to split came via executive producer Al Jean, who said: "In the premiere, it's discovered after all the years Homer has narcolepsy and it's an incredible strain on the marriage.
"Homer and Marge legally separate, and Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who's voiced by Lena Dunham."
We will have to wait for the new season of The Simpsons to find out who is telling the truth.
Season 27 of The Simpsons starts on Fox on September 27 in the US. Season 26 is currently airing on Sky1 in the UK, with new episodes every Thursday at 7.30pm.
