Following the record-breaking success of Jurassic World, Sony is reportedly close to green-lighting Passengers, the sci-fi film starring Jurassic World star Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.

Deadline reports that the studio is close to approving an early autumn start to production, which would allow for Pratt and Lawrence's schedules to match up with Imitation Game director's Morten Tyldum's.

The budget for the film will apparently be $117 million, with Lawrence being paid $20 million and Pratt getting "at least $10 million", but there are doubts over whether or not this will be the final number as Sony head Tom Rothman is said to be budget-conscious and the film is envisioned as a standalone project and not the beginning of a series.
