The Who's Roger Daltrey is the founding patron of a novel project which helps vulnerable Californian teenagers gain self-esteem through caring for dogs.
The Santa Monica based K9 Connection is an organization that puts together vulnerable teens and shelter dogs as the teens learn how to train the dogs for adoption.
The goal of the programme is to give teenagers an experience that teaches them self-esteem, responsibility and empathy. They in turn enable homeless dogs to develop skills to be adopted into permanent homes.
Meanwhile, Daltry and guitar wizard Townsend perform at the 3Arena on June 23. The Who Hits 50 tour features all the hits and tracks from classic albums such as Who’s Next, Tommy, Quadrophenia, My Generation, and Live At Leeds.
