Documentary on Mairéad Farrell (pictured below, who along with two other unarmed members of the IRA was shot dead by the SAS in Gibraltar in 1988 in one of the most controversial incidents arising from the Troubles. Their killing provoked an international outcry and eventual enquiry. Due to her youth, her gender and her stature within the IRA, Mairéad was quickly subsumed into the pantheon of Irish republican martyrs. Bríona Nic Dhiarmada, who was writing a book on Mairéad just before she was killed, revisits her memories in an attempt to make sense of her life and her death.
