Chris Evans has been revealed as the new host of Top Gear, replacing Jeremy Clarkson who was sacked earlier this year, the BBC said.

The radio and television presenter has signed a three-year deal to lead an all-new line-up of presenters for the popular BBC Two show.

He said: "I'm thrilled, Top Gear is my favourite programme of all time."

Meanwhile, the final episode of Top Gear featuring Clarkson alongside co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond will air on BBC Two on Sunday June 28.

The show will be a 75-minute special.

The episode will feature the trio driving classic cars and beaten up 4x4s.

Earlier this week, the Telegraph reported that Clarkson had recently recorded voiceovers for use during the show.
