Bradley Cooper is set to reunite with American Sniper producer Andrew Lazar for Ghost Army, which is based on the true story of a World War II battalion whose aim was to fool the Nazis into thinking that the USA had a larger army than they actually did.

The film will be produced by Cooper and Todd Phillips' 22 & Green company in collaboration with Lazar and will use the book The Ghost Army of World War II: How One Top-Secret Unit Deceived the Enemy with Inflatable Tanks, Sound Effects, and Other Audacious Fakery and the 2013 documentary Ghost Army as its resources.

Deadline reports that Earth to Echo writer Henry Gayden will write the script.

The film will tell the true story of the American 23rd Headquarters Special Troops Unit, also known as the Ghost Army, who, after The D-Day landings, used everything from inflatable tanks, false radio transmissions and sound trucks to deceive the Nazi forces in France.
