Following a show in Montreal, U2 frontman Bono met Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, other politicians and non-governmental organisations in Ottawa to discuss aid to the developing world.
CBCNews.com reports that arriving on Parliament Hill, Bono said: "The world needs more Canada."
He continued: "Development assistance, or foreign aid as you call it here, is a really good way of showing who you are to the rest of the world."
Bono was also recognised in the visitors' gallery in Canada's House of Commons after question time on Monday.
